Synopsis

Flamenco Soul is a meeting of worlds, a theatrical concert experience where flamenco, gospel, soul and Latin American rhythms converge through music and dance.

At its heart is an artistic conversation between the extraordinary voice of Spanish singer Pitingo and the explosive choreographic language of Siudy Garrido. Pitingo has forged a sound all his own, bringing the spiritual intensity and vocal traditions of gospel and soul into dialogue with the ancestral cry of flamenco cante. Garrido answers through movement: intricate musical footwork becomes percussion, while the power and physicality of her choreography transform the music into a visual experience.

Under the musical direction of acclaimed Spanish flutist and composer Juan Parrilla, an Ibero-American ensemble of exceptional musicians from Spain and Latin America expands that conversation even further, weaving flamenco with gospel, soul, Cuban music and contemporary Latin influences.

The full Siudy Garrido Ballet brings another dimension to the stage, moving between intimate exchanges with the musicians and large-scale choreographic passages in which rhythm, voice and movement become inseparable.

Behind this unprecedented collaboration are two internationally recognized artists. Pitingo is a Latin Grammy nominee and winner of Spain's Academia de las Artes y las Ciencias de la Música Award whose groundbreaking approach to fusing flamenco with soul and gospel has made him one of the genre’s most distinctive voices.

Garrido, also a Latin Grammy nominee, Venezuelan National Dance Award winner and recipient of the Dance Miami Choreographers Award, has developed a contemporary flamenco language recognized for its musicality, theatricality and astonishing rhythmic precision.

Part concert, part dance spectacle, Flamenco Soul is not simply a fusion of genres but an exploration of what they share: traditions shaped by migration and cultural encounter, the power of rhythm and improvisation and music and dance born from the need to express something deeper than words.
