Inspired by my inspiration’s personal journey as a breast cancer survivor, this triptych explores the emotional landscape of diagnosis, treatment and recovery through staged conceptual photography. Rather than documenting illness directly, I sought to translate moments that remained with me after hearing her story: the doctor whose persistence led to her diagnosis, the quiet endurance of waiting through treatment and the resilience required to embrace life again while honoring those who could not. Using symbolism and carefully constructed imagery, these photographs move beyond a single experience to reflect the vulnerability, hope and transformation that often accompany profound life events. Each image invites viewers to engage not only with my inspiration's story, but with the universal capacity to find meaning, compassion and renewal in the face of uncertainty and adversity.

@sa.dia7239Twist on Cancer: Cancer took my life in unexpected directions, but along the way, it also introduced me to incredible people, friendships and experiences. One of those was Twist Out Cancer and Anaely, a beautiful artist. Reflecting on my past with Anaely made me realize how vividly I remember it all—the pink party, yellow party, doctor visits with family, pink walks with friends, Dolphins Cancer Challenge bike rides with co-workers and dragon boat with other survivors. Sharing my story reminded me just how far I’ve come from my diagnosis. This journey has deepened me with gratitude, resilience and my faith, while challenging me in ways I never expected. It ultimately made me stronger mentally and physically. Cancer will always be a chapter of my story, but it will never define the rest of it. This art piece captures not just a moment, but a piece of that journey and the connection Anaely and I shared.
