LIEBERSON Neruda Songs
RAVEL Daphnis and Chloé

New World Symphony returns with another bucket list concert, this time inspired by love in its many forms: tender, obsessive and intoxicating.

Your evening begins with the sonnets of Chilean poet Pablo Neruda. Soprano Kelley O’Connor sings five love poems set to music, each reflecting what composer Peter Lieberson describes as “a different face in love’s mirror.”

Then, New World Symphony and artistic director Stéphane Denève give a rare performance of the entirety of Maurice Ravel’s Daphnis and Chloé, considered by many to be among the most beautiful pieces of French music. Inspired by an ancient Greek romance, Daphnis and Chloé thrills with stolen glances, a steamy love triangle and a sublime musical sunrise that will stick with you long after the concert ends.

Bring someone special and get swept up in the romance of it all.
