Synopsis
The Creative Process – Flamenco Beyond Tradition is a dynamic flamenco performance born from a week of exploration, research and creation. Emerging from an intensive residency, this one-night presentation brings newly choreographed works to the stage alongside selected repertoire, performed by a core group of flamenco dancers immersed in a shared creative journey.
Guided by internationally acclaimed artists Siudy Garrido and José Manuel Álvarez, dancers from Miami and across Latin America step beyond traditional flamenco structures to explore the body, musicality and personal-movement language. Throughout the creative week, participants engage in physical research, improvisation and guided composition, culminating in original works that reflect individual artistry and collective expression.
Rather than presenting a conventional flamenco program, the audience is invited to witness flamenco in motion—alive, evolving and shaped by process. Each piece reveals the dancers’ direct engagement with the choreographic material, where technique, emotion and contemporary expression intersect while honoring the essence of flamenco.
This intimate and powerful performance offers a rare glimpse into flamenco as a living art form, celebrating transformation, collaboration and the creative spirit that carries tradition forward.
