Synopsis

Drawing from the archive of renowned photographer René Robert, José Manuel Álvarez proposes a performative space where dance and digital art converge.

This work reinterprets more than 50 years of flamenco photography in which Robert sought to capture a state of grace and the fury of living. Álvarez translates gesture into movement, embodying the photographer at the moment of the shutter's release—becoming the developing vessel and the conduit through which these artists are reconnected. Through corporeal expression, the work establishes a living dialogue between the photographed flamenco figures and the present moment.
