Twist on Cancer: I started the program a bit late, but I believe that my artist Zion and I were able to connect to what this program is about, and it was wonderful getting to see his art and his backstory.  I am thankful that my story can inspire art and help give back to the cancer community!

Artist Statement: My art is born from a place of healing and resilience. After losing a close friend to gun violence, I turned to creating as a way to process pain and transform it into something meaningful. Each layer I draw reflects growth, patience and the beauty that can emerge even in dark seasons.

I work primarily with colored pencils, blending fine detail with bold energy, to capture not just what’s seen but what’s felt. My pieces are rooted in nature flowers, plants and organic forms that symbolize hope, rebirth and the cycle of life.
