This extraordinary instrument is essential to the artistic excellence of our stages and the unforgettable performances you experience at the Arsht.
Whether you choose to fund a key, an octave or a portion of ongoing upkeep, your gift helps bring a new Steinway Model D to the Knight Concert Hall and ensures it inspires artists and audiences alike for years to come.
Why a Steinway D?
The Steinway & Sons Model D concert grand is the gold standard for classical musicians worldwide. To maintain the highest artistic excellence on our stages, it’s essential that we offer our artists an instrument that meets their caliber. It is flawless in tone, touch and presence.
A Steinway D in peak condition is more than a piano. It’s a partner in performance. By replacing our current instrument, we honor the virtuosity of the artists who grace our stage and uphold the standards of excellence our audiences and performers expect.
Our Goal
Raise $207,630 to purchase the piano from our longtime, local partners at the Steinway Piano Gallery in Coral Gables and $50,000 to support its ongoing care through a dedicated maintenance endowment.
Donate a Key or an Octave
A piano has 88 keys and 7 1/4 octaves.
- $2,360 supports one of the piano’s keys
- $14,160 funds a half octave
- $28,320 funds a full octave
