Second annual celebration of gospel music history and culture returns in February with the Arsht Gospel Choir Invitational and free concerts throughout Miami-Dade County, culminating with Gospel Fest Miami in June 2026
A weekend of free concerts, gospel conversations and a final concert starring national and local gospel acts
Miami, FL – January 2026 – The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County (@arshtcenter) is proud to present the return of GOSPEL FEST MIAMI, the months-long celebration of gospel music, history and culture. The celebrations will kick off on February 14, 2026 with the second annual ARSHT GOSPEL CHOIR INVITATIONAL, a free choral competition where collegiate, community and church choirs from across Florida are invited to compete for a cash prize and the opportunity to perform at the second-annual GOSPEL FEST MIAMI WEEKEND on June 20-21, 2026 alongside headliners to be announced soon. The festival will also feature free seminars and panel discussions exploring the history of gospel music, choir workshops and more.

Gospel Fest Miami is made possible with support from the community, including longtime Arsht supporters Michelle and Rodney C. Adkins along with Melanie and Martin Kirshner.
For guests with accessibility needs, the Arsht provides accessible seating and complimentary assistive listening devices for all performances, along with sign language interpretation, open captioning, and audio description at select shows to ensure an inclusive experience for all guests.

Back for its second year, the Arsht Gospel Choir Invitational welcomes choirs from all backgrounds to compete for the cash grand prize and the opportunity to perform at Gospel Fest Miami. This year’s participating choirs are Florida A&M University Gospel Choir; Florida Memorial University Ambassador Chorale; Holy Cross Lutheran Praise Choir; Mt. Pisgah Mass Choir; and Renewed Choir. The choirs will take the Knight Concert Hall stage to perform their show, highlighting their vocal skills with originality, creativity and showmanship for a panel of judges and a live audience!
The invitational will be hosted by gospel singer, songwriter and producer Corey Edwards, and judges include gospel agent Kelvin Leach; Arsht Gospel Council member and music educator Zipporah Hayes; and Gamaliel Fleurantin, leader of last year’s Gospel Choir Invitational winner, Community Sounds.
To keep the performing arts accessible to all, this performance will be offered as Pay What You Can. Tickets are free, and guests are invited to contribute the suggested ticket price of $20 (or more) to help sustain live arts experiences for the people of Miami-Dade County.

The soul-stirring sound of gospel music is hitting the streets! Gospel on the Road is a series of pop-up performances featuring dynamic local artists bringing joy, inspiration and powerful vocals to unexpected places throughout the community.

Gospel Fest Miami is a two-day, soul-stirring festival explores the rich tapestry of gospel music and its deep-rooted impact on our history and culture. This year’s festival will feature pre-show artist conversations at the Arsht with historians speaking on the rich history of gospel music and its influence on culture; workshops for vocalists of all skill levels; a free performance by some of Miami’s popular gospel acts, and more - all culminating with a star-studded concert featuring national headliners alongside local acts and the winners of the Arsht Gospel Choir Invitational.

ABOUT ARSHT IMPACT PROGRAMS
Gospel Fest Miami is one of the more than a dozen ongoing Arsht Impact programs that create magical experiences and enrich the lives of more than 120,000 people of all ages in Miami, for free.
