ADRIENNE ARSHT CENTER ANNOUNCES PLAN FOR CAMPUS EXPANSION AND PERMANENT PARKING SOLUTION TO ENHANCE GUEST ACCESS AND EXPERIENCE
The Plan Includes a 750-Space Parking Facility with Performing Arts Studios
Miami, FL – May 4, 2026 – The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County today announced plans for a campus expansion to include performing arts studios and a permanent parking solution designed to improve accessibility, convenience and overall experience for guests. The expansion has been proposed by the Adrienne Arsht Center Trust, the nonprofit organization entrusted by Miami-Dade County to manage and program the County-owned facility. The project has been approved by the Adrienne Arsht Center Trust Board of Directors and a project application has been submitted to Miami-Dade County for approval.
The proposed project features a cost-effective, six-story precast parking structure with approximately 750 spaces and vertical height designed to accommodate potential future naming opportunities. The facility will include efficient ingress and egress, space for 30 school buses and 5,000 square feet dedicated to cultural programming for the Adrienne Arsht Center, comprised of two 2,500-square-foot spaces that extend the Arsht’s mission in the downtown Miami neighborhood, further cementing its identity as an arts and culture district.
The Adrienne Arsht Center Trust is funding the project through a combination of sources, including an investment from Trust reserve funds and borrowing the balance with financing supported in part by revenue from parking fees once the facility is operational. The Adrienne Arsht Center Trust also anticipates garnering support from corporate and private supporters once the project application has been approved by Miami-Dade County. The expansion will take place on adjacent County-owned land that the County has designated for parking to be dedicated to the performing arts center.
“This project reflects our unwavering commitment to both our guests and the greater Miami-Dade community,” said Johann Zietsman, President and CEO of the Adrienne Arsht Center. “We have kept our constituents in mind during the entire process: proposing not just a garage, but a solution that expands access to arts and education, making it more attractive for guests to come to the Adrienne Arsht Center by enhancing their overall experience. I am grateful for the hard work of our board in bringing this solution to life, for the expertise that our development partner Servitas brings to this important project and for the support of Miami-Dade County as we navigate the process.”
Hillit Meidar-Alfi, Chair of the Adrienne Arsht Center Trust Board of Directors, and Yosbel Ibarra, Arsht Trust Board member and Chair of the Campus Committee, jointly added, “This infrastructure project is a strategic investment by the Adrienne Arsht Center Trust in our community that expands access to the Adrienne Arsht Center’s educational programs and cultural offerings while improving the overall guest experience.”
The Adrienne Arsht Center Trust will be working in close coordination with Miami-Dade County, as the owner of the Arsht building and the adjacent parcel, throughout the planning and development process to ensure the project reflects the needs of the broader community. Upon approval of the proposed project by Miami-Dade County, the construction phase is anticipated to be completed within 14 months. The Adrienne Arsht Center – a Miami-Dade County cultural facility which hosts 400 varied performances each year – will continue to operate as usual throughout the development of the parking solution.
The proposed project has been submitted by the Arsht Center Trust in collaboration with Servitas, a nationally recognized firm known for bringing construction management and public-private partnerships to life. With more than 20 years of experience, 52 public partners served, including the City of Miami Beach, and $1.5 billion in completed transactions, Servitas brings deep expertise to the development of infrastructure projects that support cultural institutions and communities nationwide.
