AileyCamp Miami is a full-scholarship, six-week summer program that transforms lives. Since its inception in Miami in 2009, over 1,600 Miami-Dade County public middle school students have had the opportunity to participate. The program strives to provide a safe and artistic environment for students to take West African, jazz, modern and ballet dance classes while also learning about nutrition, conflict resolution, drug prevention, critical thinking and other life skills in personal development and creative communication classes.
AileyCamp Miami is a summer day camp where middle school students are immersed in dance as a physical activity that, in addition to expanding aesthetic awareness, fosters athletic ability and skills demanded by any sport. As a result, campers increase confidence, self-esteem, leadership skills and enjoy a variety of social activities.
Every summer, over one hundred students, who reside in Miami-Dade County and are enrolled in the sixth, seventh or eighth grade (ages 11 to 14) at a Miami-Dade County Public School at the time of application, are selected. Prior dance training is not a consideration for admission.
AileyCamp Miami 2026 will be held in person at the Arsht for six weeks culminating in a final performance on July 25, 2026.
Camper Commitment
Being selected for AileyCamp Miami is a privilege and a unique summer opportunity that includes a full scholarship valued at $3,500 to cover all program costs, professional instruction, supplies, uniforms and two meals per day.
To ensure the most welcoming, safe and productive environment for the personal growth and enjoyment of each camper, capacity is limited and there is often a wait list for the program.
For this reason, a $50 refundable deposit is required from all participants as an affirmation of the camper and family commitment to the six-week program. The deposit will be returned upon completion of camp. Campers are expected to attend the full six-week program. Any camper who fails to complete the program due to three (3) or more unexcused absences will forfeit the return of their deposit. Unexcused absences include, but are not limited to, family vacations and missing camp without prior notice.
Need flexibility? Families may request a waiver for the $50 deposit. Each request will be reviewed for approval. Click HERE to apply.
