“Tamika’s Color Symphony – The Best Is Yet to Come”
Acrylic on Italian Cotton Canvas
34” x 37” (unframed)

Artist Statement: Tamika’s Color Symphony is my energetic interpretation of Tamika—the way I feel her moving through life with intention, power and so much heart. She chooses to live in color, to lead with joy, to spread hope and love everywhere she goes. That choice is her superpower, and she carries it with grace, purpose and a presence you can’t help but feel.

From the very first time we spoke, I was struck by her vibrant spirit, her bright, contagious smile and her unwavering positivity. As an Ambassador of Hope for the American Cancer Society and a leader in the Making Strides Against Cancer campaign, she gives her time and heart freely—caring for people whether she knows them or not, and living her mission to “Just do good. Put good out there in the world.” She works at the sheriff’s office, serving her community with dedication and heart. In her own time, she inspires and uplifts through her story, her advocacy and her example.

This piece is her frequency translated into color, texture and movement. Woven into it are her sacred angel numbers 1-2-3-4, a key of life symbol, and the musical notes to “Beauty Is Her Name,” a ’90s R&B song by Dru Hill that we both love. She grew up in the U.S. I grew up in Sweden. Yet this same song lived in both our hearts. The day we discovered it, we sang it together over the phone, and I had tears in my eyes—a moment I’ll never forget.

It has been a true honor to bring her “Color Symphony” to life—to paint how I see her: a vibrational being of color and light, radiating and reflecting a spectrum as bright and boundless as her spirit.
