Free Gospel Sundays Jekalyn Carr

Free Gospel Sundays brings Miami together to celebrate nationally renowned gospel headliners and the community's brightest gospel stars. The new season of FGS opens with Jekalyn Carr, a Grammy Award nominee and Stellar and GMA Dove Award-winning recording artist.

Carr is a profound speaker, radio and conference host, entrepreneur, actress and author. She has spent nearly a decade at the top of the gospel music charts. As a top-selling independent recording artist, Carr earned several Billboard No. 1’s before the age of 21, including her hit singles “You’re Bigger” and “You Will Win.” She burst onto the scene at 15 with incomparable vocals and a wisdom well beyond her years in her breakout single “Greater Is Coming.” Carr made her television acting debut with a featured role on the OWN Television Network series Greenleaf and expanded her acting experience in the feature film Never Heard. Her entry into the literary marketplace was heralded by her debut book You Will Win! Inspirational Strategies To Help You Overcome. In You Will Win!, Carr shares some of her most poignant and riveting exhortations, inspirational messages, pointers and strategies to promote a victorious Christian life. Carr’s You Will Win conference is another platform that she uses to inspire people.

Opening for Carr will be the FMU Ambassador Chorale. The Chorale performs a wide range of music and experiments with various musical genres as well as student compositions. Most recently, the Chorale performed with the New World Symphony and world-renowned soprano, Michelle Bradley. The Chorale has also performed in the United States, The Bahamas and Europe to great acclaim!
