The Heritage Project: Caribbean DJ Culture & Influence

Dates

April 20, 2022 at 7:00 PM

Venue

Peacock Foundation Studio

The Heritage Project closes out its salon series for the season with Caribbean DJ Culture & Influence. Let’s explore how DJs have influenced and shaped the music and party vibes of Caribbean culture. We will discuss the rise of minority talent within the DJ industry, and explore how various island music like reggae, calypso, soca and kompa have influenced the music community.

This salon will also be presented online. Register to attend virtually here.

The Heritage Project’s free artistic salon series was created to promote social equality and amplify Black voices. The salon series captures the spirit of a Harlem Renaissance salon where Black leaders, intellectuals, activists, artists, educators and business owners would come together to discuss matters impacting the Black community.
