Powerhouse jazz vocalist Nicole Henry returns to the Arsht Center to celebrate the release of her new CD, Time to Love Again, an eclectic mix of jazz standards and reimagined pop tunes that showcases Henry’s soulful interpretations. The CD reached No. 4 on the U.S. JazzWeek Radio Chart and remains in the top 40 after 19 weeks. Time to Love Again also reached No. 6 on the U.K.’s Sweet Rhythms Soul Chart.

Whether burning through a swing tune or caressing a ballad, Henry makes each song her own. She is often favorably compared to Whitney Houston and Natalie Cole for her dynamic range, impeccable phrasing and bluesy gospel style. Stephen Holden of The New York Times raved, “I had the sense of being in the presence of a pop-soul superwoman whose every gesture and inflection conveyed confidence and mastery.” Broadway World says, “So powerful is her charisma, so unique is her personality, so rich is her music, so abandoned is her joy that you can't watch her without being drawn in.”

Among her numerous accolades, Henry received the Soul Train Award for “Best Traditional Jazz Performance," “Best New Jazz Artist” by HMV Japan and “Best Solo Musician” by Miami New Times. Henry has enjoyed four top 10 CDs on the Billboard, HMV Japan and JazzWeek charts, and she has headlined stages in 20 countries throughout her career.

Time to Love Again is Henry’s eighth CD and first full-length studio recording in 10 years. It’s also the first album with her longtime South Florida-based quartet of collaborators, whose sense of familiarity and exquisite craftsmanship shine throughout the album.
