Our Song, Our Story kicks off Black History Month at the Arsht Center with a powerful concert celebrating the music of Marian Anderson and Jessye Norman, whose great artistry and success led the way for generations of African American opera singers. This concert, created by conductor and composer Damien Sneed, features Raehann Bryce-Davis and Brandie Inez Sutton, two of the most exciting voices in opera today, accompanied by a string quartet and piano.

This afternoon concert will include some of the world’s best-known arias, art songs and spirituals in a diverse repertoire of works by George Frederic Handel, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Giacomo Puccini, Giuseppi Verdi, Richard Strauss, George Gershwin, Margaret Bonds, Harry T. Burleigh, Richard Smallwood and Damien Sneed.
