Siempre Flamenco is thrilled to bring Miami audiences a spine-tingling experience at the 16th edition of the much-anticipated Festival de Cante! Top flamenco stars will join forces for an intimate performance at the Adrienne Arsht Center’s Carnival Studio Theater.

This year’s festival features acclaimed Spanish singers Macarena de Jerez, Morenito de Illora and Jose Campos; exceptional guitarist Paco Fernandez; and world-renowned dancer Juan Jose “El Junco.” Siempre Flamenco’s founding members, guitarist Paco and dancer Celia Fonta, will join the ensemble to complete this terrific lineup of flamenco artists.

Morenito de Illora is one of the major flamenco singers of the moment. Respected for his immense knowledge and original style, he possesses the virtues of a true flamenco singer: temperament, courage, understanding, compassion and sensitivity. Morenito is touring with legendary guitarist Tomatito and the Joaquin Cortes’ flamenco dance company.

Macarena de Jerez is pure Gypsy, and her singing style is steeped in the heritage of her ancestors. Born and raised in Jerez de la Frontera, the birthplace of flamenco, she is earthy, passionate and electrifying. Macarena is a festival favorite, and we are happy to welcome her back once again.

Jose Campos, son of Morenito de Illora, is a young singer from Cadiz who recently toured the United States with the Flamenco Festival, singing alongside the son of great flamenco guitarist Tomatito. This will be Campos’ second time performance at Festival de Cante. In 2019, Campos won first place at the Alcobendas New Talent Cante competition.

Guitarist Paco Fernández was born in Seville into one of the most prestigious families in flamenco. The legacy of his father, Curro Fernández, and his mother, Pepa Vargas, marked Paco and his brothers, José and Esperanza, in the purest Gypsy style. His style blends fierce rhythms with haunting melodies.

Dancer Juan Jose “El Junco” is a major star. He has spent more than two decades traveling the world with solo projects and with his company. This will be his first appearance in Miami with Siempre Flamenco.

Celia and Paco Fonta have been bringing great flamenco to Miami audiences for more than 30 years. They are the recipients of a Florida Folk Heritage Award, the state’s highest honor for folk and traditional arts.

All seating is general admission. Premium seats are located closest to the stage. Standard seats are located in the remainder of the theater.

You will not want to miss this live extravaganza!
