The “Tale As Old As Time” is reimagined in Area Stage Company’s immersive production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast!

Area Stage Company is excited to invite you and your family into the enchanted world of Broadway classic Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Every year a whole new generation discovers the magic behind the castle walls, and now you can be our guest at the Arsht Center for an immersive theatrical experience!

"Taking what [he] learned from ASC's critically acclaimed immersive production of Annie," director Giancarlo Rodaz is "turning this Broadway musical into a magical Disney experience of epic proportions."

Set in a re-creation of Beast’s enchanted castle designed by Tony-nominated Broadway set designer Frank Oliva and lighting designer Joe Naftal, this much-loved immersive spectacle tells the story of Belle, a young woman from a provincial town, and the Beast, a cruel prince trapped in a spell placed by an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and to be loved, the spell will be broken and he will be free from eternal doom.

Brilliantly adapted from the Academy Award-winning animated film, the stage version includes all the wonderful songs written by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman, along with new songs by Menken and Tim Rice. The original Broadway production was nominated for nine Tony Awards, including the one for best musical, and has been charming international audiences for decades.

This is an immersive theatrical experience. Ticket buyers will be seated in benches throughout the Carnival Studio Theater and there will be two brief moments of strobe light effects.

All attendees must have a ticket.

*“Student professional production” describes the standards of training and conduct that prepare ASC conservatory actors with the skills and knowledge necessary to compete and work in the profession.
