The Arsht Center is Miami's home for dance. With three exceptional stages — the grand state-of-the-art Ziff Ballet Opera House, the expansive Knight Concert Hall and the intimate and flexible Carnival Studio Theater — all serving as major showcases for dance, the Arsht presents the best of classical and contemporary ballet as well as groundbreaking modern and world dance year-round. The Arsht boasts the acclaimed Miami City Ballet as a resident company and serves as its Miami home, an annual engagment of the renowned Alvin Ailey American Dance Company, and an illustrious roster of visiting local, national and international companies. Addtionally, now in its fifth year, AileyCamp Miami is home to more than 100 full-scholarship summer dance students from throughout Miami-Dade County.
The Knight Masterworks/Sanford and Beatrice Ziff Dance Series presents major productions of contemporary dance and ballet. Past seasons have included visits by the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Savion Glover, Mark Morris Dance Company, Batsheva Ensemble, The Joffrey Ballet, Hubbard Street Dance Company, Merce Cunningham Dance Company, Pilobolus and more.
Flamenco Festival Miami is an annual event that boasts the finest flamenco dancers, singers and musicians direct from Spain. Always packed with the hottest emerging stars and enduring legends, the festival has made the Arsht Center one of the preeminent stages in the world for Spain’s most popular art form.
Miami City Ballet, a resident company of the Arsht Center, presents a full season of classic works by legendary choreoraphers such as George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins, Paul Taylor and Twyla Tharp, plus brand new works by many of today's youngest and brightest dance makers such Christopher Wheeldon, Liam Scarlett and Alexei Ratmansky.
