The ritual of the Whirling Dervishes features the revolving dance of the dervishes cloaked in long white robes accompanied by spiritual Sufi music performed live on traditional instruments dating back to the time of Rumi. The Whirling Dervishes have performed previously in Europe and the Far East besides the United States. Attendees of the performance in Miami will have the unique opportunity to witness this intensely spiritual and inspirational performance of the Whirling Dervishes without having to travel to Turkey.

Whirling or turning of Rumi Dervishes symbolize the soul's turning towards the truth, the follower grows through love, deserts his ego, finds the truth and arrives to the "Perfect." He then returns from this spiritual journey as a man who has reached maturity and a greater perfection, so as to love and to be of service to the whole of creation. All the various Sufi Orders do different forms of dhikr and ceremonies of dhikr. The ceremony of the Whirling Dervishes of Rumi is known as Samâ'.
