Guitar Virtuosos
AL DI MEOLA WORLD SINFONIA and LEE RITENOUR
The guitar is a true roots instrument that has been on the scene from the beginnings of American popular music. It has played a defining role in every form of music—from the blues and R&B to jazz and rock. Few artists rise to the level of sheer virtuosity as do these Guitar Virtuosos.
Al Di Meola, Grammy winning guitarist, first burst on the scene in Chick Corea’s historic Return to Forever band. It was just the beginning of a career spanning jazz, rock, Latin and flamenco styles. He is long considered one of the greatest technical players in the world.
Grammy-winning and multi-platinum artist Lee Ritenour , earned his nickname “Captain Fingers” for his virtuosic performances. He’s appeared on more than 3,000 recording sessions and recorded more than 40 albums. A pioneer of West Coast contemporary jazz, Lee is an internationally sought-after soloist, performing at every major jazz festival in the world.
