Mondays and Saturdays at noon the Arsht Center offers free tours of the largest performing arts center built in the U.S. in the last three decades. These tours are generously sponsored by American Airlines.
Since 2009, the Arsht Center has played host to AileyCamp Miami — a free six-week camp for 100 students (age ranges 11-14). The camp culminates in a free community performance on one of the Arsht Center’s main stages. Applications for campers are required and there are restrictions. A committee of volunteer parents dedicated to sharing their passion for the performing arts with their children. Does the Arsht Center have baby-changing stations?
Yes, several Men's, Ladies' and all Family-Friendly (Unisex) bathrooms on both sides of the Knight Concert Hall and Ziff Ballet Opera House have baby-changing stations. Please see a member of the Front-of-House staff for directions.
How many bathrooms are in the Arsht Center?
There are 45 public bathrooms in the Arsht Center located in the theater lobbies of all three theaters and on every seating level of the Knight Concert Hall and Ziff Ballet Opera House.
Does the Arsht Center have booster seats?
Yes, we do. Please request one from an usher as you enter the theater.
Are there age restrictions for any of the shows?
The center suggests age minimums for all shows — please check the show information page, just below the main photo.
Does the Arsht Center have babysitting services?
The Arsht Center does not have babysitting services.
Do babies or small children require a ticket?
Yes, all guests entering the theater need a valid ticket. Lap seats are available and can be purchased at the Box Office.
Is there a child discount for tickets?
There are occasionally ‘rush’ discounts on tickets when purchased in person within a set time before a performance on the day-of for students with a current form of ID. Rules for ‘rush’ discounts vary by the performances to which they apply, and are not guaranteed. Please call the Box Office with questions.
Are kids allowed in the box seats?
If I have to leave the hall, can I watch the show from the lobby?
Yes, performances are transmitted to screens in the lobbies.
What food is available?
A variety of light food and beverage is available one hour before the show and during intermissions in the theater lobbies.
Can I bring food into the performance halls?
Bottled water [in plastic bottles] purchased at the Arsht Center is permitted into the theater. The food and beverage policy varies per event. Please ask the theater staff if food and beverage is permitted in the theater. No outside food or beverage will be allowed into the theaters.
How do I find out the length of the performance, and if there’s an intermission?
Once it is available, that information will be posted on the show information page.
Do you have any educational material or a parent’s guide for shows?
There are education materials available for certain performances. Please call our Outreach and Education Services office for further information at 786.468.2262.
Are there services for hearing-impaired children?
Some presenters provide American Sign Language (ASL) interpreted performances; Open Caption; or projected English/Spanish surtitles. Please check with the Box Office in advance to determine which performances provide these services. Infrared assistive-listening devices are available in the lobby of the Ziff Ballet Opera House, the Knight Concert Hall and the Carnival Studio Theater. There is no charge for the use of the headsets.
