Shade is Augusto Soledade’s latest full-length work and delves into identity and identification, the underlying themes for the creation of this contemporary dance piece. It is created with six dancers and will be accompanied by an original score created by Jessica Muñiz-Collado, and an art installation by Kandy Lopez.

Other repertory works that are part of the bill are Some Things Revealed (2010) and Excerpts of Da-Da (2014). Commissioned by the Moving Current Dance Collective, in Some Things Revealed, Soledade plays with the idea of what dance image gets revealed as he blends the signature dance styles of two distinct companies, Moving Current Dance Collective and Augusto Soledade Brazzdance. The objective of this abstract work is to offer a visual and emotional experience that is beyond distinctions. Da-Da is an exploration of rhythm as a cultural concept that expands to inform, inspire and connect people from various cultures.
