“Her focus, energy and sheer technical brilliance make her a formidable artist.”
- Miami Herald
“With arms as boneless as Medusa’s serpents, [Molina] explores her whole universe in dance.”
- Sunday Express, UK
“With arms scrolling and torso snaking, she can be sensuous and curvaceous, but she can also be sharp, funky and funny, and her crystal-clear footwork is not the incessant hammering of the flamenco show-off – these rhythms speak.”
- The London Evening Standard, UK

ZIFF BALLET OPERA HOUSE
“One of the finest soloists in the world today”
- New York Times

Rocío Molina draws on deep animal instincts to explore the struggle for survival in the natural world. Two male dancers and six musicians will accompany her onstage as she integrates movement, drama, sound looping and a contemporary aesthetic that raises questions about how we think about flamenco in the modern world.

Rocío Molina began dancing at the age of 3, and by the age of 11 she had won prizes in national dance contests. She has since received copious international praise, with The New York Times calling her “one of the finest soloists in the world today.”

Her list of awards and accolades is noteworthy: Most Outstanding Dancer at the XI Certamen de Coreografía y Danza de Madrid in 2002; El Madroño and the Venencia Flamenca el Mistela awards for Best Flamenco Dancer in 2006; The critics’ award to the Best Dancer 2006 and 2007 by Flamenco de Hoy, award to the best dance show of 2007 to Turquesa como el Limón by Canal Sur Radio, the Press Award to the Best Dancer, the Giraldillo for best choreography at the Seville’s Flamenco Bienal 2008, and the National Dance Award in 2010.
