Visual Arts

The Arsht's growing number of visual art exhibits and installations greatly enrich the Arsht Center experience. Demonstrating the parallels between the performing and visual arts allows patrons to witness — in one setting — stunning architecture, contemporary visual art and world-class live performances. Additionally, the new Knight Masterworks Print Collection, which commissions visual artists to create new works annually for the Arsht, enhances the growing body of new dance, music and theater works commissioned, developed and produced by the Arsht Center each year.

This new program to showcase Miami artists and Miami-based collections will begin February 1, 2018 with 2017 Knight Arts Champion Sebastian Spreng’s “Tones of Miami,” which will feature fifteen original prints, each created with an iPad and selected from Spreng’s latest body of work. The public will have an opportunity to view the art up close prior to performances and during free behind-the-scenes tours, sponsored by American Airlines, offered each Monday and Saturday at noon. This inaugural exhibition will run until the end of the 2017-2018 season. The content will change periodically after the first exhibition. “Tones of Miami” prints will be available for purchase.
