About the Café at Books & Books
We’re your locally-owned, independently-minded café and bookstore in the tradition of all of Mitchell Kaplan’s Books & Books’ locations, and under the direction of James Beard award-winning Chef Allen Susser!
Find us on the Arsht Center campus, inside the landmark Carnival Tower. Our café-style restaurant features indoor and outdoor seating (weather permitting), table service and a full bar. Open to patrons 7 days a week, for lunch and pre-show dining.
“We have a passionate commitment to local, fresh ingredients” and our menu features a great choice of appetizers, entrees and desserts. Plus, a fine selection of Books & Books! Manager Katherine Wakefield and her staff will happily share their recommendations for new titles and help you with all your book needs.

Sustainable Seafood Special Edition Dinners
Diners are in for a night of the freshest and most delicious seafood and environmental education as Chef Allen serves five unique courses featuring sustainably caught local seafood. Allen, a long-time member of the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Seafood Watch Blue Ribbon Task Force, goes on a fishing trip to the Florida Keys, the day before the dinner and cooks up the catch with guest chefs the following day.
Save the date: Wednesday, January 18, 2017: The festivities kick off with hand-made cocktails, local craft beers, and sparkling Prosseco. The menu will be determined by the actual catch. Chef Allen and Captain Mike will educate attendees between courses; all five courses will be paired with delicious wines.
The evening is priced at $82 per person, exclusive of tax and gratuity. A portion of the proceeds benefit Captain Mike’s non-profit foundation, The Fishing Experience. Seating is limited and reservations are required at (786) 405-1745 or Keith@booksandbooks.com
