"There is a lovely luminosity to Perianes’s tone."
- Telegraph UK
“A pianist of impeccable and refined tastes, blessed with a warmth of touch.”
- Telegraph UK
“A true lyrical gift.”
- Gramophone
“Perianes’ suave performance gave us a gorgeous display of emotion.”
- The Arts
“Yet when Perianes insinuated his silvery tone, which has the consistency of aural mercury, into the orchestral blend, it felt as though he were suggesting a Mozart already preparing to sublimate the composer’s characteristics joy an sassiness to his impending fate.”
- Los Angeles Times
“The orchestra, despite the absence of a conductor, provided a strong rhythmic grid for the soloist.”
- South Florida Classical Review
“Orpheus Chamber Orchestra offers a glimpse of heaven.”
- Sarasota Herald-Tribune

A night of Mozart! This evening's special program features two masterworks by MOZART - the jewel-like Symphony No. 33 and with Spanish pianist Javier Perianes as soloist, the Piano Concerto No. 27, Mozart's last piano concerto finished months before his death in 1791.

Orpheus Chamber Orchestra creates extraordinary musical experiences that enrich lives and empower individuals through collaboration, innovation, education and a passion for artistic excellence. Orpheus strives to be the world’s premier chamber orchestra by performing music at the highest level without a conductor, challenging artistic boundaries, inspiring the public to think and work with new perspectives, and building a broad and active audience in New York City and around the world.

Described as “a pianist of impeccable and refined tastes, blessed with a warmth of touch” (The Telegraph), Javier Perianes’s flourishing international career spans five continents taking him to some of the world’s most prestigious venues, and he also has performed with many of the world’s leading conductors.
