“The rapturous response from the audience… was unlike anything witnessed in recent memory.”
- LA Times
“The Idan Raichel Project burst onto the global music scene in 2003, changing the face of Israeli popular music and offering a fascinating window into the young, tolerant, multi-ethnic Israel taking shape away from the headlines.”
- The Boston Globe
“This one-man Middle East peace accord makes music that is an ambitious celebration of multicultural diversity. The ethnic elements are cleverly rewired with modern grooves to create an ambient journey that thrillingly bridges the traditional and the modern.”
- The Times (UK)
“A multi-ethnic tour de force.”
- Billboard
“For three or so hours, everything seemed right in the world. Good vibes, equality, cultural diversity and most importantly, world-class music were just some of the things that I experienced. I wasn’t in some faraway land, but at an Idan Raichel Project concert.”
- The Jerusalem Post

KNIGHT CONCERT HALL
“This one-man Middle East peace accord makes music that is an ambitious celebration of multicultural diversity...thrillingly bridges the traditional and the modern.”
- The Times of London

PLEASE NOTE: Performance begins at 8:30 p.m.

International musician Idan Raichel, well known and loved as the band leader of the Idan Raichel Project over the last 12 years, is taking a bold new move, by returning to the audience SOLO. In line and inspired by the likes of i.e. Caetano Veloso, Dave Matthews and Prince, Idan says, that this comes very natural to him and that he is excited to share the new experience with the world’s stages live.

Solo on stage, Idan will play acoustic piano, electric piano, percussion, drum pad & looper and even some chosen toys of his two young daughters, which he uses to create sound in honor & celebration of his fairly new status as a father.

After his latest stint of 30 sold out piano concerts, Idan has decided to take this time and moment of his career to dedicate himself to the solo performance.

In these concerts, Idan will share in an organic and intimate way, his journey of the last 12 years and how his melodies and songs were written before being produced for the numerous collaborations & concerts around the globe.

Idan Raichel has recently been honored by the Martin Luther King Institute for bringing the voices of the minorities and new migrants to the mainstream and for his effortless work in uniting people from different backgrounds, beliefs and cultures through music.

In the solo concerts Idan will present songs from his entire career, including his latest album “At The Edge Of The Beginning”. With this new solo album, Idan brings audiences an introspective work, consisting of mostly gentle songs with unassuming melodies and arrangements. “This album has been a way for me to find myself, to come to terms with the fact that I am now part of a close family,” he says, “I’m not here for just myself anymore; I’m here for my daughters.” While at the Edge of the Beginning does not mean Raichel has put an end to The Idan Raichel Project, he looks forward to opportunities to strip down to the essence of musical expression. “I hope this album will enable me to go on stage, me and a piano, and to tell the audience stories, inspirational thoughts, and just sing songs. I think that this is the ultimate way to be an artist, when you’re forced to depend on yourself and on your soul.”

His solo concerts will be an exciting and enticing sound & song experience, but, keeping close to his love for collaborations.
