Melvin Williams continues to enrich his solid foundation as one of Gospel Music’s most notable voices across the world at churches, performing arts theatres, the White House, music conservatories, civic centers, festivals, on radio, television and most recently at the GRAMMY Museum Los Angeles. Melvin Williams is everywhere bringing traditional Gospel music!

Williams’ distinctive, soulful vocal tone and high-energy, emotion-filled delivery touches the heart and soul of everyone. His YouTube Viral video featuring hit song “Cooling Water” is over 12 million views and “Another Blessing” is over 6 million views. As he continues his mission to “preserve traditional Gospel music”, Melvin launched his syndicated radio show, “DownHome Gospel with Melvin Williams” that airs on more than 52 radio stations across the nation, as well as the United Kingdom and Africa. As Melvin states, “Traditional Gospel music is the roots, the rock, the foundation of our Heritage, America’s Heritage” and he captures the essence of this mission with his newly released CD project titled Where I Started From distributed by Sony RED and New Day. Melvin’s rendition of Mahalia Jackson’s “How I Got Over” solidifies his raw, God-given talent as he accompanies his vocals on his acoustic guitar.

As a legendary Gospel icon, Hall of Famer, 7-time GRAMMY Award nominee, 17-time Stellar Award winner, and U.S. Music Ambassador for the U.S. Department of State Cultural Affairs, Melvin tours internationally performing, and hosting workshops on The history of Gospel music and its influence in today’s music honoring those great Gospel singers that have come before him like Mahalia Jackson, The Dixie Hummingbirds, and James Cleveland. On occasion, Melvin tours with the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin singing duet with Ms. Franklin on the legendary song “Precious Memories” at storied venues like Los Angeles’ Microsoft (formerly Nokia) Theater, Philadelphia’s Kimmel Center, and the White House’s annual “In Performance Series: The Gospel Tradition” along with his brother, for President Barack Obama and his administration.

Melvin Williams, world-renown gospel producer, songwriter and singer of the hit song “Cooling Water” remained on the Billboard and gospel charts for over 100 weeks and remains one of the most popular songs requested by audiences nationwide and will be gracing the Arsht Center stage with his spectacular talent.
