“Kids wowed as their imaginations come to life!”
- Today Show
"The Story Pirates teach kids a love of creative writing. It helps kids to see that their words and ideas are really important. I believe that what the Story Pirates are doing is helping America, nay, humanity—helping humanity itself. It’s crazy entertaining.”
Jon Steward
"This smart, silly, irreverent crew provides audiences of all ages, and even crusty old critics, with an infusion of joy and a refreshing dose of the absurd."
-The San Francisco Chronicle

Calling all children for Story Pirates! Now through December 1, the Arsht Center and STORY PIRATES are collecting short stories written by local elementary school children, ages 5-12.

The Adrienne Arsht Center provides this information to help you make informed decisions when bringing young people to performances. These are recommendations – you are the expert in deciding what your children should see and know best how to help them enjoy their theatergoing experience. Every guest, regardless of age, must have a ticket; babies-in-arms are not admitted to any performance.

KNIGHT CONCERT HALL

Story Pirates celebrates creative writing by students from coast to coast in a loud, hilarious sketch comedy musical performed by professional improvisers and musicians. The show is based entirely on stories written by elementary school students, and part of the show is made up on the spot by the kids in the audience!

Story Pirates will delight and surprise with puppets, enlivening songs and outrageous sketches, all the while motivating kids to pick up a pencil and write down their own fantastic adventures. Story topics run the gamut, from kung fu ninja babies fighting crime to cats flying and tickle monsters who rule the world.

We are currently taking story submissions! Please visit the Stories tab above for information  on how to submit a story for consideration!

*First access passes are valid until 1:15 p.m. and do not guarantee admission. If all passes have been claimed, families are encouraged to arrive as early as 12:30 p.m. to line up for seating that will be granted on a first-come first-serve basis. Limit of 4 per household.
