DORMAN Siklòn (World Premiere, Adrienne Arsht Center
10@10 Commission)
LISZT Piano Concerto No. 2
MAHLER Symphony No. 1 (“Titan”)

 Thibaudet “played brilliantly!”
- The New York Times

This performance will feature a new work by Avner Dorman that was commissioned by the Arsht Center for The Cleveland Orchestra, to celebrate the organizations’ ten-year partnership. Dorman’s work will celebrate the diverse influences that comprise Miami’s musical landscape. The Washington Post said that Dorman’s music is "… sophisticated enough to appeal to an audience of classical aficionados, and approachable enough to appeal to people who have never been to an orchestra concert."

“Jean-Yves Thibaudet has a way of combining an often wild virtuosity with an almost relaxed grace that sets him apart from many other performers of his generation!” – Chicago Sun-Times. Hear Thibaudet play Lizst’s second piano concerto - one of the most beautiful and stunning concertos of all time, full of emotion, virtuosity and passion.
