The Cleveland Orchestra in Miami: Mahler’s Second

Mahler’s music is popular because it is universal—deep passions, love of nature, loss and yearning, sarcasm and humor, tragedy and transcendent joy—we can all recognize something of ourselves in his symphonies. His monumental “Resurrection” Symphony draws comparisons to Beethoven’s Ninth, from its turbulent, thrilling opening to its absolutely transcendent, joyous finale. A performance by The Cleveland Orchestra of this monumental, superheated symphony is not to be missed.
