Gaby Kerpel is known for combing South American sounds and technology to create new forms of music. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Kerpel immersed himself in music, studying piano and music composition at a young age. In 2003, Kerpel partnered with Oscar winner Gustavo Santaolalla, creating his first solo album, Carnabilito. Kerpel became famously recognized for mixing Argentinian Folklore and Electronica. His album led to live shows Carnabilito and Techno Folk. In 2008, Kerpel began touring the US and Europe as his alter ego, DJ King Coya. As DJ King Coya, Kerpel has created remixes for Gotan Project, Brazilian Girls, and Julieta Venegas. Directed by Pichón Baldinu, Kerpel composed and produced musical pieces for Fuerza Bruta and H2OMBRE.
